Producer State Support Program Overview
Following closely the mission of Cotton Incorporated, the Producer State Support Program’s mission is to improve the demand for and profitability of cotton. However, strategies and activities created under this program are generally designed to enhance the specific needs of the individual cotton-producing states.Each year 7.5% of grower contribution into the Research and Promotion Program is made available for the Producer State Support Program. These funds are divided among the states according to production. Within each state is a grower led committee that sets priorities, request proposals from their local research institutions and allocates their share of the SSP funds. Once projects have been identified by the committee they are managed by the Agricultural Research technical staff.
